The project was approached by the design team from a dual perspective of both creator and user. Through a new interpretation of the classical "less is more" concept, the designers deconstructed the traditional formula for office space design. Taking into account factors such as construction feasibility, aesthetics, functions, and human-space interaction, the team portrayed a vivid spatial image through the natural strokes of lines, textures, and light.

Workspace has become a place where urban professionals spend the biggest portion of their day. Following the theme of a "Dream Studio", the designers communicated their corporate culture that highlighted openness, inclusiveness, adaptability and sharing, and conducted a systematic design that returns to the essence of life and looks into the future. Colors and lighting infuse sensibility to the digital age that highlights accuracy, creating an ideal office space for the designer community.

The design team properly adjusted and utilized the site's conditions, and built a half-enclosed front at the entrance with matte black sheets, which complements with the gentle ivory stone walls in the interior. The backdrop wall that divides the space without blocking interaction, along with the precisely engraved logo on the wall surface, creates a fluid order and dynamic connection in the space.
The challenge was about coordinating various steps during construction and managing the schedule for transporting different materials to the site. To improve efficiency and ensure the meticulous execution of the design scheme within a limited budget, the design team actively participated in the construction process and implemented a creative plan for construction, hence eventually ensured the successful delivery of the project while staying within budget constraints.
The project started in March 2022 and finished in July 2022 in Shenzhen, China.
This workspace integrates various functions, including reception, work, meetings, coffee breaks, reading and socializing, creating an office environment that fosters a sense of community via a suitable scale. Each unit operates independently, yet can be easily reconfigured and integrated with others. The open office area follows the spatial order of a geometric matrix, resulting in a minimalist environment that promotes concentration and tranquility for users, while maximizing daylighting.
The creative ideas for the project are the collective wisdom of multiple participants of the project. Likewise, the space remains open and inclusive in terms of functionality and forms to encompass both new and old. An arched ceiling creatively optimizes an original structural beam, bringing a sense of extension to the space. The beam, partially exposed, plays with a minimalist long, narrow ceiling light, subtly showing the texture of decoration details and strengthening a sense of identity.
In the post-COVID era, single-use office spaces are now being infused with more diverse functions that also cater to emotional and imaginative experiences. The project is the office for a design studio, conceived by the design team themselves. As an "organism" with boundless potential, it seamlessly blends physical functions, forms, and structures with intangible spirit and ambiance to provide a free, fluid and all-encompassing spatial experience.
