Residential for Charmilles Interior Design
A couple designed their home to accommodate their family of four, opting for a modern style with clean lines and a color palette of black, gray, white, and wood. Artistic details, including paint, grilles, fabric, and black glass, were incorporated while staying within budget. The ground level is divided into two zones, with a custom L-shaped kitchen in the rear. Through space adjustments, a flexible room was created, and the bedroom was expanded by removing a partition wall.

The public area on the first floor is divided into front and rear blocks according to the position of roof beam, and then the functional field is refined according to the needs of owner. In addition to a custom-made L-shaped kitchen in the rear block, the multi-functional room the male owner expected very much is created through the space replanning. Before the decoration, the master bedroom is modified to remove the original compartment wall and achieve a large field.

As for the other roof beam that runs through the aisle, creating a sense of pressure to press the space under the beam, the elevation space below the beam is transformed into a storage space with iron hangers and systematic cabinets after assessing to leave the appropriate width of the aisle. In this way, it not only completely avoids the trouble of walking under the beam, but also has an additional place to hang the coats and clothes, so that the master bedroom has the function of internal and external dressing rooms.
Faced with a limited budget and a need to maintain a sense of light luxury, the solution turns to the building materials replacement, replacing the thin sheets originally planned to be decorated on the TV wall and sofa background wall with art paint and wood panels respectively, which not only reduces the cost, but also maintains high texture. The TV wall adopts the pearlescent art paint, with hand-drawn patterns, to present a low-key gorgeous feeling spontaneously.
The project took 4 months and was finished in March 2024 in Yunlin, Taiwan.
The living area on the first floor starts with a large layout. The use of an aluminum sliding door allows the kitchen to switch freely between open and closed, and does not hinder the smooth communication with the living room. In terms of details, the kitchen countertop is expanded, and its extended countertop is used as the bar of middle island to play the dining function, but also improves the relationship between the kitchen and the dining table.
In order to add a sense of light luxury to the simple space of modern style, the design uses a lot of glass elements. For example, the main bed background wall decorated with divided lines is modified by black mirrors in the local area; the handle of TV cabinet and some door pieces are also made of glass material, which improves the level of variability.
A young couple bought an independent residence as the new home for their family of four members. Due to the owner's preference for modern style, the design adopts neat lines to build the basic framework, and the black tone which is the male owner's favorite tone is taken as the basic tone, mixed with gray, white and wood colors, supplemented by art paint, grille, fabric, black glass and other elements, and finally achieve the owner's expectations for the home in a limited budget.
