The design feels like a warm, elegant retreat, poured into with endless care. The designer handpicked solid wood and water-stained oak for their earthy charm, pairing them with natural marble and engineered quartz for understated luxury, plus natural stucco and eco-friendly, low-VOC materials for a green touch. Every tiny joint where materials meet was sanded to perfection under close watch—no flaws, just smooth, seamless edges. Natural light pours in, highlighting the textures, while the designer obsessively oversaw each detail, from wood to marble, ensuring a flawless, polished finish. It’s a masterpiece of quiet luxury and comfort, built with deep attention to every delicate craft.
Creating this space was a deep challenge balancing the husband's love for warm, earthy tones and soft textures with the wife's taste for sleek sophistication and neutral shades. Their contrasting preferences pushed our creativity to its limits. We found harmony through a gentle palette of beige and white, using materials with varied sheen, textures, and grains to subtly bridge their visions. Cultural ideals called for a nurturing home, and spatial limits demanded openness. Thoughtful flow design ensured smooth transitions, encouraging extended family moments in a graceful, adaptable retreat.
The project started in July 2024 in Hsinchu, Taiwan and finished in Feburary 2025.
This home feels like stepping into a quietly luxurious hotel, yet it embraces you with the warmth of a familiar home. Soft colors and textures—cozy for the dad, sleek for the mom—shift effortlessly as a toddler plays and a newborn grows. It moves naturally: a living area transforms into a dad’s workspace or kid’s play spot, with open paths inviting family chats and playful moments. The open layout brings everyone together, while a private room evolves with the newborn, offering calm. It shines by blending luxury and comfort, deepening family bonds, and staying inviting—outstanding for its heartfelt, adaptable charm.
Our research explored family life through in-depth talks with the husband and wife. We aimed to balance his love for a warm, cozy home with her taste for sleek sophistication, designing for a toddler and newborn. We watched daily routines, sketched layouts, and used 3D software to test spaces. Close dialogue revealed their ideal haven. Results showed muted colors and layered finishes unified their styles, with a flexible area for work, play, and a future room for the newborn, ensuring privacy. Insights showed open layouts boost family bonds and well-being. This inspires sustainable, adaptable homes, enhancing society’s harmony and business innovation.
The design feels like a heartfelt journey, weaving the husbands dream of a cozy haven with the wifes taste for refined elegance, clashing over bold colors versus soft shades and warm textures versus sleek finishes. We found harmony in a gentle palette of muted tones and layered textures, shaping a home for a toddler and newborn due in six months. Inspired by family closeness, it offers a warm hub where the husband works and the toddler plays, beside a quiet room for the newborns future, ensuring peace. Thoughtful flow invites natural family moments, blending comfort and luxury with ease.
