Steel thing, Sculpture, Artwork, Paintings, Chinese tea ceremony, Tea area, Piano room
The division of space is by floor. First floor is the public area for hospitality, which also includes dining room, living room, tea area, and piano room. The tea area is beside the living room, continuing the spirit of Chinese serve customers with tea. An elevated U shape couch, together with tatami and wooden tea table, designer also reserve a hot water configuration port for convenience. This space with excellent view is a good place for gathering.
The artworks brings in humanity into the space, designer has to consider the details at the same time especially the height, this is because the artwork itself is real and expensive, and can only to place in after the construction complete. The sculpture Majesty of Li Kuang Yu beside the television wall of the public area needs a base. Therefore, designer reserve a square space and movable ceiling, the ceiling was squat after placing the artwork sculpture.
The project finished in February, 2019 in Taipei, Taiwan
In order to avoid the pressure beam, designer placed a beveled ceiling on top of the tea area. There are a lot of mug in the cabinet of dining room, echoing the porcelain cup business which operated by the client. A round kitchen table is to represent the round cup mouth, at the same time highlight the Chinese traditional reunion concept. A mobile hidden table is in the kitchen, the women client can use it to entertain her friends.
The first floor is the public area for guest visiting, while the second floor is the private area. Designer uses lightweight wooden floor to keep the concealment of private area. LED light strip along the stairs keep the space safe and charm. The art galleries in second floor make use of transparent glass handrail, maintaining visual experience of the viewer and space transparency. There are hidden door in the wall of second floor, a suitable painting represents the room client is hang on each of the door is meaningful.
The deploy of artwork have to consider the movement pattern, at the same time properly allocate every unique location of artwork. The steel artwork on entrance is the idea of woman dweller, which creates an idea of peach blossom forest corridor. This inspiration came from the surname of the client, Lim which means forest in Chinese, designer makes use of the light shadow to create the layer of space, let people feel relax although they are in city.
