Business Building for Shanghai Wei Design Co.,Ltd
Situated in a seaside logistics park primarily focused on shipping operations, this flagship structure features a podium with slanted sides and an elongated form reminiscent of a cargo vessel. The tower portion exhibits a geometric, squared design that evokes stacked shipping containers. The overall architectural composition suggests a cargo ship preparing to embark, reflecting both the industry nature and the maritime character of the location.

Situated in a coastal logistics park in Rizhao, China, this building serves as the central complex. Its architectural form creatively resembles a large cargo ship, fully loaded and ready to embark, aligning with its functional and geographical attributes and visually representing the deep connection between the structure and the culture of shipping and logistics. Its distinctive design makes it one of the most recognizable landmarks within the park and along the coastal area.

Positioned along the Yellow Sea coast, the facade is constructed with metal aluminum panels to withstand the high salt fog, ensuring corrosion resistance and ease of maintenance. The third and ninth floors feature fully enclosed glass curtain walls, as if the tower were floating in the air, presenting an aesthetic of lightness.
Standing at approximately 50 meters tall and situated roughly one kilometer from the Yellow Sea shoreline, the relatively modest height and coastal distance somewhat diminish its visual impact along the waterfront. To address this, the design team incorporated LED lighting elements within each exterior panel, enhancing the nocturnal presence and ensuring its prominence in long range views.
Construction commenced in March 2023 and wrapped up in October 2024 in the same city.
The ninth floor serves as the core center, functioning as the coordination hub and business negotiation space. Positioned at an elevated height with panoramic views, it mirrors a vessel bridge, creating a seamless blend of functionality and visual aesthetics. The distinctive positioning and architectural design enhance the space's commanding presence, subtly instilling a sense of leadership in visitors.
The entrance features a sail inspired curved design that offers a harmonious contrast to the linear elements and conveys symbolic significance. When viewing the building as a massive vessel prepared for maritime journey, the curved façade represents smooth sailing ahead, embodying optimistic prospects and aspirations.
The design concept investigates the coastal geographical features of the park alongside its focus on maritime container logistics. The architectural design is inspired from cargo ships ready for departure, and the tower square shape looks like a stack of containers, symbolizing a full cargo load. The podiums on either side of the structure feature an inclined design reminiscent of a freighter bow, emphasizing the shipping industry' characteristics and harmonizing with the surrounding.
