Restaurant for Another Tales Studio

Novae is a fusion dining concept with a hint of futuristic interruption. The interior was designed to reflect characteristic of cutting edge, unique, and unconventional brand. This idea is supported by the use of white accents, smooth lines partially filled with light, ripple stainless steel, and mirrors. The space produced two section with distinct atmosphere: the restaurant offering fusion dishes and the lounge offering digestive cocktails and brown spirits, connected with a mirror illusion tunnel.

Production Technology

The restaurant interior is characterized by the clean and sleek material palette. White spray paint, ripple stainless, mirror are combined to create futuristic setting. Featuring floating booth seating with strong white accent and filled with lights.

Design Challenge

"future" is a concept of time that will never come. Our imagination of technology and future in all aspects is composed of a series of scenes.

Project Duration

The project completed in 2020 in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia

Operation Flow

The space produced two section with distinct atmosphere: the restaurant offering fusion dishes and the lounge offering digestive cocktails and brown spirits, connected with a mirror illusion tunnel.

Research

The main research of the project focused on how to offer a glimpse into the future, mankind's imagination of future has always been connected to mega images, such as universe, celestial bodies, and the trace of time.

Inspiration

Another Tales Studio utilized elements that are often associated with modern people's imagination of future, including circles, curves, reflective ceiling and traces, to create more intuitive futuristic scenes and ambience in the space.

Project Overview

Novae Restaurant has been a Silver winner in the Interior Space and Exhibition Design award category in the year 2021 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition. The Silver A' Design Award celebrates top-tier designs that embody excellence and innovation. This award acknowledges creations that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also highly functional, reflecting the designer's deep understanding and skill. Silver A' Design Award recipients are recognized for their contribution to raising industry standards and advancing the practice of design. Their work often incorporates original innovations and elicits a strong emotional response, making a notable impact on the improvement of everyday life.
