Restaurant for J PLUS DESIGN WORKS
The designer has many years of experience in hotel catering design, combining the design and operation ideas of modern catering with the catering culture and local customs of Beijing and Sichuan, and integrating and restructuring them through space arrangement. Polished marble floor tiles and mirror ceilings complement each other, and the ancient wine displayed on the wall is also integrated with the Sichuan embroidery decoration. The light polished by modern methods is reflected on the retro fabric, as if adding the soul of traditional culture to the trendy temperament.

This project aims to provide a dining experience that explores the differences between store catering and commercial catering. Each private space on the plane has a separate sofa rest, tea tasting area, and dining area so that customers may completely enjoy the ceremony of taking a seat, drinking tea, and eating. It not only emphasizes the customs of the East but also incorporates hustle and bustle in dailylife, giving visitors a feeling of adequate comfort and lasting quality.

The main materials in this project are wood, baking paint, electroplated metal and Suriname black marble.
The designer installs a full-size art work called "Wanwea" at the arrival area for response to the brand connotation. More than 100 different types of food seeds are gathered from different regions of the northern and southern, turned into crystal squares using resin technology, and then distributed and affixed to the wall in accordance with regional relationships, forming an aesthetic device with both cultural value and artistic beauty.
The project started in August 2021 in Chengdu and finished in January 2023 in Chengdu.
The zenith with translucent fish-shaped decorations placed in groups stretch the flexible posture, making a confluence into the sea, in the contemporary arrangement of an intertwined fascinating Chinese natural culture. In addition, the towering and empty pattern heightens the impression of the space's artistic extension, and the falling art installation is situated close to the diners to deepen the connection, creating a high and lovely level of curiosity.
To some extent, the architecture and design inspiration are always related to the flavor of dishes. In a subtle and multi-dimensional manner, Wanwea Yun Restaurant covers Sichuan cuisine with Beijing cuisine, tradition with modernity, and space with food to perfectly interpret the cultural value concept of "harmony between nature and man, harmonious coexistence," giving rise to a variety of tastes with the perfection of the environment and encouraging rebirth with diversity.
Wanwea Restaurant gets its name from the homophone "Wan Wei," which means "search for all kinds of food and the method to cooking," signifying the catering industry's relentless pursuit of flavor. The proprietor, who was born in Sichuan, has spent close to 30 years honing his roast duck talents in Beijing. An inventive restaurant that mixes real Peking duck and traditional Sichuan food was created when the extreme taste of Beijing met the nostalgia of Sichuan.
